Students vandalism have been part and parcel of the education system for a longtime. Although it had been low in our system for quiet some time now, it is always gingered by some reasons which might be related to poor feeding and other basic amenities that may be lacking in an institution.
However the reason behind the vandalism act caused by the students of Krobea Asante Senior High School in Asokore, in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region is mind boggling.
About 40 students in the above named school have been arrested by the police relating to the destruction of properties belonging to the school and some teachers on campus.
The students according to reports were arrested after destroying school properties over poor results recorded by their predecessors.
This can be interpreted that, the authorities of the school and teachers stood on their grounds and did not allow any form of malpractice in the school during the 2022 WAEC Exams, anonymous reported told Afriklick.
Speaking to Otec news, an assembly member for Effiduase South Electoral Area who doubles as the coordinator for Free S.H.S in the District Mr. Ebenezer Opoku said, the unfortunate incident happened on January 22.
A total of six cars have been destroyed including four cars belonging to the school, and two private vehicles belonging to members of staff.
‘Properties amounting to millions of cedis have been destroyed, bungalow for senior house mistress, her car, schools notice board, stores and food stored there have all been destroyed.
Students have been asked to go home untill further notice.
