The newly confirmed Director General of Ghana Education Service Dr. Eric Nkansah has issued a communique that affirmed that, the Ghana Education Service has given approval for the dismissal of one Hamidu Huzaimah Daabu of Chiana Senior High School, with immediate effect.
Some students of Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region were seen in a video that went viral, insulting the president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo.
However unfortunately by the students, the headmistress of Chiana senior High School initiated disciplinary measures against the students even before investigations started.
The widely-circulated video received massive condemnation from the Ghanaian public space. Masses of the public blame the Free Senior High School policy which have limited teachers such that, they cannot issue many disciplinary measures against the students such as corporal punishment.
Before investigation was launched into the incident the management of Ghana Education Service apologize to the president and to the public as well for the bad conduct of the students.

Management of the Ghana education service (GES) has given the approval for the dismissal of Miss Hamidu Huzaima Daabu with immediate effect to serve as deterrence to other students.
This is in view of her involvement in misconducting herself by making derogatory comments in a video that went viral. Her conduct is considered very undesirable and contrary to the acceptabable standard of conduct generally required of any student in our Educational system in Ghana.
Your ward is therefore required to hand over any school property in her possession to the headmistress of the school before leaving.
It is expected that your ward will use this as a major turning point in her life to bring the desired change in behaviour and attitude towards life.
We wish her all the best in her future endeavor.
Dr. Eric Nkansah
AG. Director General
